The Stepfather (1987)
Just re-watched the movie today and the opening scenes is still one of my favorites.

This psychological thriller directed by Joseph Ruben stars Terry O'Quinn as Henry Morrison, a seemingly mild-mannered man who has murdered his family and starts a new life with a widow and her daughter. The film explores themes of identity, sanity, and the horror lurking behind a perfect facade. O'Quinn's performance is highly praised for its subtlety and intensity, making Jerry Blake a terrifying and memorable villain.
