Cinch Home Services is a Florida-based home warranty company that's been in business since 1978. It operates in 48 states and protects nearly 1 million homes, making it the second largest provider of home protection plans in the US.
Coverage
ย Cinch Home Services offers a choice of three aptly named plans: the Appliances Plan, the Built-in Systems Plan, and the Complete Plan. Each plan covers what you'd expect them to cover based on the name, and the coverage is in keeping with most other home warranties.
Cinch also offers additional coverage for such home features as pools, spas, septic tanks, and well pumps at an additional cost. You can craft a customized plan to suit your needs by combining their standard plans' coverage with these options.
Of course, there are exclusions to what Cinch Home Services covers, and you can find a full list on their website. But if you're in need of additional coverage, Cinch offers specialty items such as pools and spas (including heaters), septic tank/pumping, well pumps, and even a Premier Upgrade Package that helps cover the cost (up to $1,000 per claim) when there are charges that are not normally covered under a home protection plan, such as permits and code upgrades.
Pricing
Cinch Home Services' annual premium starts at $335. However, the cost of a home warranty can vary depending on where you live, which plan you choose, and whether you opt for any additional coverage options. Cinch's service fee ranges from $100 to $150 per service call, which is slightly higher than some of its competitors.
Claims and Services
Cinch Home Services has a 24/7 claims department. There is a 30-day waiting period before you can make a claim, and the service recall period is 180 days. Cinch partners with a nationwide network of licensed contractors who have passed background checks and maintain adequate liability insurance to protect you and your home.
While the deductible for a service call ranges from $100 to $150, Cinch's unique Homeowners Insurance Deductible Reimbursement feature can help ease the burden of paying a deductible if you make a homeowners insurance claim for a covered item. With this feature, Cinch will reimburse you for up to $500. However, this feature is only available with the Complete Home Plan.
Reputation
Cinch Home Services is a National Home Services Contract Association (NHSCA) member and earns a 3.8 out of 5 rating with TrustPilot. The BBB gives Cinch a B rating.
