LEVEL-5 has released a full playthrough of DECAPOLICE’s Tokyo Game Show 2026 demo, turning a short show-floor slice into about 45 minutes of footage for players who were not in Chiba. The two-video package published by Gematsu follows both choices offered by the demo: City Patrol and Case Quest.
The split matters because DECAPOLICE is built around more than one kind of detective work. LEVEL-5’s official TGS page told attendees they could either solve a case or patrol the city. The show-floor build supported Japanese, so the new footage is a visual tour rather than an English-language walkthrough.
From crime scene to confrontation
City Patrol shows the freer side of the demo, while Case Quest puts its investigative systems in focus. In a September presentation reported by Gematsu, LEVEL-5 CEO Akihiro Hino described “Decaism” as a process of examining crime scenes recreated in a virtual world, gathering evidence and questioning people connected to a case.
Players then arrange what they have learned on a Case Board and use those findings to identify a culprit. The loop does not stop at deduction: Hino said investigation, arrest and battle are designed to flow into one another. Optional Case Missions add more mysteries outside the main path.
LEVEL-5 also worked with SCRAP, the company behind real escape games and other immersive experiences, on case concepts. Hino identified the Three Mafioso Murders as one scenario adapted from a SCRAP concept, giving the game’s puzzle structure a connection to real-world escape-room design.
