BioWare documentary 'Massive Effect: The BioWare Story' planned for 2027

Shane Fennessey and Adam Scorgie are making Massive Effect: The BioWare Story, a documentary planned for 2027, Rock Paper Shotgun reports, citing Deadline. Rock Paper Shotgun, citing Deadline, says the film is for Canada’s Super Channel and is expected to cover BioWare’s origins in 1995, its closure and a little beyond.

Rock Paper Shotgun reports that EA shut down BioWare, the developer behind Mass Effect and Dragon Age, the month before its coverage. The outlet says filming began two years before that 2026 report.

Rock Paper Shotgun names BioWare founders Ray Muzyka, Greg Zeschuk and Augustine Yip among those expected to appear. The outlet also quotes Muzyka and Zeschuk: “When the production team asked for our blessing to tell the BioWare story, we were honored and deeply moved.” Geoff Keighley wrote on Nov. 5, 2026, that he had been interviewed for the documentary earlier that year.
