Deep Silver has announced free next-gen updates for Metro 2033 Redux and Metro Last Light Redux, with the publisher scheduling the PC release for Oct. 22, 2026, and the console release for Oct. 29, 2026.
According to Deep Silver’s announcement, the update will be free for existing owners of both games on Steam, Epic Games Store, Windows Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
What Deep Silver says the update adds
In the same post, Deep Silver says all platforms will get 4K textures, improved animation fidelity, higher-quality audio, richer environmental detail, and a range of community-led bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements.
The company also says this is not a full remaster or remake, but a set of enhancements meant to bring the existing Redux versions up to date for modern hardware in place. On consoles, Deep Silver says the update adds native support for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S, alongside platform-specific features including PSSR on PS5 Pro and TSR upscaling and anti-aliasing support on Xbox Series X. The publisher also says Xbox platforms will support Spatial Audio. On PC, Deep Silver says the update includes DLSS support and spatial audio support.
Deep Silver’s post is the primary source for the announcement. GameSpot and Shinobi602 also repeated the news on X, but those posts trace back to the publisher’s announcement rather than independently confirming additional details. The full patch notes, Deep Silver says, will be revealed at launch, so the company’s current post is an overview rather than a complete feature list.
