TLDR

Xbox announced changes to cloud gaming access beginning November. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers receive 15 hours per month, Premium 10 hours, and Essential 5 hours. Non-subscribers can buy playtime directly. Multiple accounts including CharlieINTEL, Tom Warren, Wario64, and JezCorden reported the update alongside the official Xbox post. The shift replaces prior unlimited access for subscribers. Additional hours become available for purchase once monthly limits are reached.

@tomwarren🚨 Microsoft is slashing Xbox Cloud Gaming access down to just 15 hours a month for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. It's even less for other Game Pass tiers, and you'll have to pay extra for bundles of hours. @Pirat_NationMicrosoft is putting monthly limits on Xbox Cloud Gaming starting in November. Game Pass subscribers will get: -Ultimate: 15 hours/month -Premium: 10 hours/month -Essential: 5 hours/month Cloud gaming was previously unlimited across these tiers. Microsoft says the change is due to rising operating costs and expects it to significantly affect around 4% of Game Pass subscribers. Players who want more hours will be able to buy additional cloud-playtime bundles through the Xbox Store, with unused hours rolling over. Microsoft is also introducing a pay-as-you-go option, letting people stream supported games they own without subscribing to Game Pass

@GrummzXbox Game Pass to limit you to 5/10/15 hrs per MONTH. These limits are more brutal than AI weekly caps. But no cheap consoles, no PC components, and now no cloud gaming. Gamers are not having a good year. This points to a bigger problem. Hosting GPUs is more expensive than ever before, as it competes for space and hardware with AI in datacenters. But I don't want a future of Cloud Gaming, so Cloud Gaming taking a big L is good news to me. But this is still grim for gaming.
