TLDR

Neverness to Everness released version 1.3 with a new full 2D animated scene starring Hotori. Posts sharing the clip drew immediate pushback from artists who flagged repeated background elements like cathedrals and towers, unchanging facial expressions, and umbrella physics that ignore gravity. Users such as Mark Brooks and others listed these as typical AI flaws. Some replies defended the work as possibly human-assisted or asked critics for game context. The conversation continues among visible replies on the platform.

@JacCooper1@thanagorSHS Why are there a million Westminster abbeys?
@MarkBrooksArtNo weight to her holding onto the umbrella and the eyes/face stays the same without any variation to convey real emotion. Physics go out the window after the first second. The background is various versions of the first frame with no rhyme or reason. Just the same spires and mish mash of the same thing with no points of interest or recognizable detail. Buildings seem to go on for blocks. Lights of the building suddenly come on across entire blocks for no reason. It's soulless and strikes the conscious and subconscious as feeling wrong. It's a bowl of salty gruel that you want everyone to think is a juicy savory steak.
@dzdripyet i still see people i know playing this game and they tried to call me crazy for not seeing them as human for it
@KeijiAkaashi005Im crine everyone is lashing out NTE lol😭
@Daily_hotoriwhy even complaint if you don't play game and don't know the context of this scene.
@JasonBerkMusic@commandant64907 @thanagorSHS That’s a movie made by real human beings in 1964 and as such would need to adhere to, like, what was possible on screen sixty years ago. Meanwhile you have limitless access to technology and can’t make a character adhere to in-world physics? Fucking lame.
@sillyacountacethey make posts like this because the people behind gen ai are talentless dregs and bait people with artistic knowledge into outlining how their models fail to hold up to human content and update them with the shortfalls you outlined removed
@gilgenas@thanagorSHS Also why there is so many Cathedrals and high towers alike as far as the horizon ? Does she live on an imperial world from Warhammer 40K goddamnit ?
@Razor_LanguageI personally don't see anything wrong with these scenes, it suck ass and that's it. I do hate generative AI and I'm against it, the reason why is clear, it gives a bad precedent for the creative industries as it replace/steal their(human's) job or opportunities. But to me, this one seems like a human made with a help of AI tools in some of its scenes rather than COMPLETE AI. Yes, some parts do look shit and weird, but let's be fair, not ALL of the scenes looks like that and you can still see that it's still human made in overall. Hotta's problem still the same as before, half assed effort.
@wifeofdehyaThis shit is obviously AI😭😭 idk how y‘all fall for this shit..
