TLDR

Windows Central says Microsoft emailed users of older Samsung TVs that the Xbox Cloud Gaming app would be retired. A post quoting Jez Corden says his sources see no plans to slow the service and deny rumors that Microsoft canceled upcoming cloud-gaming controllers. Corden attributes the TV issue to a lack of updates for those sets and newer Chromium APIs required by Xbox Cloud Gaming.

@IdleSloth84_XBOX has no plans to decelerate on Xbox Cloud Gaming" and Xbox Cloud-specific controller still going ahead, despite some rumors. “Sources tell me that there are absolutely no plans to decelerate on Xbox Cloud Gaming, and the issue with older Samsung TV sets pertains to the lack of updates those sets are getting. The latest version of Xbox Cloud Gaming requires new Chromium APIs to power next-gen features set to arrive in the future (likely further boosting quality and latency). Samsung has no plans to bring further updates to their Tizen-based 2020 TV sets, and Chromium hasn't been updated there in almost a decade. Additionally, rumors that Microsoft has cancelled upcoming Xbox Cloud Gaming controllers are false.” via: Jez Corden https://www.windowscentral.com/gaming/xbox/dark-clouds-appear-over-xbox-cloud-gaming-as-it-retires-apps-on-some-tvs-and-the-reasons-are-poorly-explained4h
