WARDOGS has sold 3 million copies just over two weeks after launching into Steam Early Access, developer Bulkhead announced on September 26.
The studio's first-party Steam update puts the milestone in a short but intense launch window. WARDOGS entered Early Access on September 10, and a related announcement on the same page says it passed 2 million sales by September 15. The latest update does not provide a regional breakdown, revenue figure or independent audit of the total.
A fast launch for a 100-player shooter
WARDOGS is a tactical first-person shooter built around 100-player matches. Three teams fight over a control zone on a destructible battlefield, with infantry, vehicles and a cash economy shaping each round. Bulkhead's announcement thanks players for the support but also acknowledges that the surge of attention will not last forever.
The pace of the reported milestones still gives the studio a much larger audience to support than it had at launch. That means sales are only one part of the story: server performance, new content and the path through Early Access will determine how many buyers remain active.
The timing also matters because WARDOGS is still an unfinished Early Access release. Its audience has grown before Bulkhead has completed the longer development plan, increasing the pressure on each seasonal update to address feedback while keeping matches populated.
Season 02 is the next test
Bulkhead says the team is working on Season 02 and updates beyond it. A first-party event card on the Steam page dates Season 02 for October 15, while the sales announcement promises more information during the following week.
The update also notes WARDOGS' nomination for the community-voted Golden Joystick Award for Best Early Access Game and highlights player-made clips from the game's second week. Those additions turn the post into a broader progress report, but the central signal is the sales curve: according to Bulkhead, WARDOGS added another million copies after its September 15 milestone.
