PlayStation Plus is swapping in three Monthly Games for October: F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2. Sony’s lineup post says subscribers can add them from Oct. 6 through Nov. 2.
The selection spans racing, extraction shooting and arcade-style alien defense. Only World Brothers 2 includes a PS4 version; F1 25 and Hunt: Showdown 1896 are offered on PS5.
Three very different co-op options
F1 25 is the official game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship. Its single-player options include Career and My Team 2.0, which puts the player in control of a Formula 1 team as its owner. F1 World also adds a multiplayer mode where friends race as a squad against AI drivers, alongside the game’s broader online competition.
Hunt: Showdown 1896 sends players into hostile maps to track bosses, collect their bounties and extract while monsters and rival Hunters threaten the run. Every attempt asks players to balance pursuing a target against surviving the other teams hunting the same prize. It supports solo play or teams of up to three people.
Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 turns the series’ soldiers, giant enemies and environments into voxel-style versions. Players assemble a four-character team from rescued allies, then choose equipment before deploying. Its roster pulls from mainline and spinoff EDF games, while returning enemies appear alongside creatures created for this installment. It supports four-player online co-op and two-player local split screen on both PS5 and PS4.
September’s games have one more week
Subscribers have until Oct. 5 to add September’s Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life and Chained Echoes to their libraries before the monthly selection changes.
Sony notes that PlayStation Plus lineups can differ by region, so members should check their local PlayStation Store when the October games go live.
The same announcement also lists Plus-exclusive HorrorFest packs outside the Monthly Games lineup. Those include a Call of Duty: Warzone Horror Bundle on Oct. 1, a Hunt: Showdown 1896 Starter Pack on Oct. 6 and an Overwatch 2 Dragur Reinhardt pack with five tier skips on Oct. 7. Each requires its base game.
