Call of Duty announces Modern Warfare 4 is live globally

Call of Duty announced on Oct. 23, 2026, that Modern Warfare 4 was “now live globally”. The post credited Infinity Ward with getting the action started early but gave no precise worldwide activation time. Activision Blizzard Japan’s release dates the worldwide launch to Oct. 23.

The publisher lists Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Battle.net, Xbox on PC, Steam and Nintendo Switch 2. It describes an Infinity Ward-developed game with campaign, multiplayer and DMZ modes, and says multiplayer has 12 new 6v6 maps at launch.

Call of Duty’s purchase page has platform links and “On Sale Now” text, but it also shows a “Pre-Order” link and preorder terms. The page cautions that play time may be affected by outages and time zone differences, and that platform availability and start dates can change.
