According to Sensor Tower’s 2026 State of Gaming Report, Electronic Arts led video game publishers in 2025 with over 200 million game downloads, including the top three best-selling AAA games: 'Battlefield 6,' 'EA Sports FC 25,' and 'EA Sports FC 26.' Microsoft followed as the second-highest publisher, with Take-Two Entertainment, Ubisoft, and Sony Interactive Entertainment rounding out the top five. Despite the dominance of shooter games, the report suggests that new titles are not expanding the genre but rather capturing existing players, highlighting the importance of retaining and monetizing current audiences.
