Resident Evil 2 Director Found New Game Too Scary to Play

Hideki Kamiya, director of the original Resident Evil 2, told producer Takeuchi the games are too scary. He proposed optional modes that could reduce horror elements, including brown paper bags over zombies' heads or pleasant mood lighting in place of dark rooms. Kamiya added that he wanted to play the recent entry with Leon Kennedy's return to Raccoon City but found it too frightening to continue.
