No other Assassin’s Creed remake actively in development after Black Flag Resynced as of Oct. 29, 2026

In an Oct. 29, 2026, franchise update, Ubisoft said it had “no other Assassin's Creed remake actively in development” following Black Flag Resynced. Its teams are focused on new Assassin's Creed titles, including unannounced projects with new settings and stories. Ubisoft also said it would keep exploring opportunities to bring older games back.

Ubisoft described Black Flag Resynced, which launched July 9, as the franchise's first remake. It called rebuilding old systems, adding new elements and balancing the old with the new a “massive undertaking.” The company said it was proud of how the game was received. Its final major update has arrived, bringing New Game+, Nightmare Mode, new rewards and more customization options. Ubisoft said quality-of-life updates will follow.

Among the games still in development, Ubisoft identified Codename Invictus as a multiplayer project. It also reported steady progress on the darker Codename Hexe. Ubisoft plans to share its next major update about Hexe in 2027, a timetable for news about the game rather than its release.
