Steam Frame kernel reportedly gains CD-ROM support after user request

Aiodensghost wanted to use an external disc drive with the Steam Frame, but the headset could not read discs, Rock Paper Shotgun reports. The outlet says Valve employee gaberowe responded a day later, then committed a kernel change enabling CD-ROM support around 10 minutes afterward. Technically adept users could hypothetically install the updated kernel; the outlet expects support to reach others in a future software update.
