TLDR

Listings and excerpts describe Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II as native Switch 2 editions with improved resolution and frame rate. The main catch for existing Switch owners, according to those supplied pages and excerpts, is that there’s reportedly no upgrade path and no save transfer between versions.

Soonlit’s product page describes Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II as native Switch 2 editions. The same page says both versions improve resolution and frame rate over their original Switch editions, and Nintendo World Report’s excerpt similarly says the Switch 2 releases promise a higher frame rate and resolution.

The less welcome detail for current owners is consistent across the supplied listings and excerpts. Soonlit’s listing says existing owners do not get an upgrade path and cannot move save data between the Switch and Switch 2 versions. That same limitation also appears in Nintendo World Report’s writeup excerpt and in a post quoting an RPG Site update.

What the bundle page says

Nintendo Life’s bundle page says the package includes the full versions of Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II. It also says the products included in the bundle can be purchased on an individual basis as well.

So the practical picture from the supplied pages is pretty straightforward: these are presented as native Switch 2 versions with better performance, sold either separately or as a bundle, with no indicated upgrade route or save migration for players coming from Switch versions.
