Professor Layton's 14-minute TGS demo playthrough goes online

LEVEL-5 has released a full playthrough of the Tokyo Game Show 2026 demo for Professor Layton and the New World of Steam. The 14-minute video published by Gematsu gives players a longer look at the puzzle adventure before its December launch.

Tokyo Game Show ran from September 17 through September 20 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. Gematsu reports that a planned fifth day was canceled because of severe weather. The new upload captures the complete show-floor demo, but neither Gematsu nor LEVEL-5 presents it as a review or a tour of everything in the finished game.

Layton and Luke meet again in Steam Bison

The official game site places the story one year after Professor Layton and the Unwound Future. Luke now lives in America because of family circumstances and has earned the nickname “Great Detective Luke” by solving everyday mysteries around town.

Professor Layton arrives in Steam Bison, an American town that has rapidly developed through steam technology. A mysterious incident draws the archaeology professor and his former assistant into another adventure. The supporting cast includes inventor and mechanic Elinora Allinston, her aspiring-actor twin Elida, town inventor Eggmuffin Sonder and Gilded Council chair Bolt Allinston.
