Control Resonant's first post-launch roadmap puts an expanded New Game Plus mode in October and Photo Mode in November. The practical change is not simply another difficulty setting: the October update removes the current endpoint after a second playthrough, allowing players to keep starting new runs without wiping their existing progression.
Remedy calls the expanded mode New Game++. The game already launched with New Game Plus, so October's addition is aimed at players who want to keep refining a completed save rather than stop after one return trip through Manhattan.
A loop without the second-run ceiling
Remedy previously detailed what carries into New Game Plus. Aberrant weapon upgrades, health and combat-resource improvements, supernatural abilities, talents and Artifacts persist. Traversal abilities reset because they remain tied to story progression and the way the world opens up.
The return run also expands the build system. New talent nodes become available, players can equip multiple combat abilities earned from the same boss, and a fourth Artifact slot opens beyond the three available during the first playthrough. Artifacts provide passive modifiers for areas such as survivability, combat, exploration and the resource economy, sometimes with trade-offs.
The world is meant to push back against that stronger build. Remedy says enemy encounters continue changing, and some bosses can behave differently on a return visit. New Game++ turns those systems into a continuing loop rather than a single replay that ends at the second set of credits.
Photo Mode follows in November
Photo Mode did not make launch because Remedy focused on getting the base game into what it called the best possible shape. The studio now plans to release it in November. Insider Gaming reports that Remedy consulted virtual photographers from the community while developing the feature, although the announcement does not yet spell out its camera, lighting or pose controls.
Future updates are also expected to add more clothing and customization options for Dylan. Story content is less certain. The roadmap does not announce an expansion, and Control Resonant has no Expansion Pass comparable to the ones attached to some earlier Remedy releases. That leaves story DLC unannounced, not ruled out. For now, Remedy's committed post-launch plan is narrower: make the existing campaign more repeatable in October, then give players a dedicated way to photograph its warped Manhattan in November.
