Remedy Entertainment is changing Control Resonant’s combat balance at launch after early players and reviewers found enemies too durable and Dylan too weak. Hotfix 1.3.3 lowers enemy health and Falter requirements while increasing the protagonist’s maximum combat strength.
The studio says it reached the decision after monitoring player feedback, reviews and early data, along with its own time playing the final game. The specific complaints were that enemy health pools felt too high, executions required too many hits to trigger the Falter state, and Dylan lacked power during the opening hours.
Most enemies now have lower base health and need less Falter buildup before they can be stunned for an execution. The Dancer and Deserter bosses receive the same two reductions.
Remedy is also increasing maximum Aberrant Strength and maximum Ability Strength. Those boosts follow a curve rather than applying evenly: later upgrades produce larger increases, so developed builds deal more damage than they did before the hotfix.
Rebuilding a character becomes cheaper
The update permanently lowers the cost of respeccing, making it easier to change a build after spending upgrade resources. Vendors will carry more Reset Items, and The Artist, the first Resonant boss, will drop two of those items instead of one.
Players who want finer control can still use Assist Mode. Its settings include enemy aggression, incoming damage and the speed at which Dylan recovers his abilities, allowing difficulty adjustments beyond the new baseline balance.
Two English interface descriptions are also changing. Aberrant Strength will be labeled as “Damage and Falter” to show both effects of the stat. Build Power will explain that it comes from unlocked Combat Abilities, Aberrant forms and upgrades, Talents and Core Upgrades. Remedy says localized versions of those text changes will follow later.
The patch notes do not publish exact health reductions, strength percentages or a download size. Remedy says it will keep watching feedback and make further adjustments as needed, while directing players to a separate forum thread for known issues outside this launch balance pass.
