Reportedly canceled Mass Effect project described with plans for handcrafted missions and Hitman-style freedom

In a video, Dantics said the missions would have kept the handcrafted maps of the first three Mass Effect games while allowing players to talk to people, assess a situation or go in guns blazing. His post describes a customizable N7 agent with experimental technology that could hack the environment and remotely trigger hazards.

Dantics placed the story more than 600 years after the Reaper War, amid a galactic Cold War between three major factions: an alliance including humanity, Krogan and Batarians; an alliance of Council races; and the Geth. He said Shepard's legacy would remain, though in his video he only suggested that earlier choices might come up. He also described squadmates who could clash and Liara's return as an Asari matriarch.

Dantics called the project Mass Effect Universe. Both Destructoid and Wccftech based their coverage of its proposed features on his account, rather than a separate account from BioWare.
