Longtime Cricket Fans Mourn Fading Passion for the Game

Multiple users on X describe losing their attachment to cricket. One traces the shift to the 2019 semi-final loss. Others cite BCCI monopoly, retirements after 2014, too many T20 leagues, and few memorable ODI series since 2020. Several note they once watched every India match and even fringe series but now skip most games. One compares the feeling to when their father stopped watching after the 2011 World Cup. Test cricket in Australia and England still draws some attention, while white-ball international cricket is called largely irrelevant without ICC events.
