Former Xbox COO Helen Chiang disputes claim she was fired for a policy violation

Chiang left Microsoft in October after 21 years. She had previously headed Minecraft and became Xbox’s first COO in July, Warren reported at the time. His report cited an internal memo in which Xbox CEO Asha Sharma said Chiang was leaving that day and thanked her for her service. Sharma said other Xbox leaders would take on Chiang’s immediate responsibilities while plans for COO leadership were finalized. The memo did not give a reason for her departure.
