TLDR

A gamer’s complaint about rising costs lists the Switch 2 at $499.99 and the PS5 and Xbox Series X at $649.99 each—before buying a game. The post cites $69.99 new AAA releases, some editions at $79.99 or more, and additional spending on controllers, online subscriptions, DLC and expansion passes. The author says PC players aren’t entirely spared either, with many big new releases on Steam still costing $69.99.

@fOx1257067GAMING GOT EXPENSIVE FAST🎮 Nintendo Switch 2: $499.99. PlayStation 5: $649.99. Xbox Series X: $649.99. Pick one. You still haven't bought a game. New AAA game: $69.99. Some editions: $79.99 or more. Extra controller. Online subscription. DLC. Expansion passes. And PC gamers aren't completely escaping it either. A lot of the big new releases on Steam are still $69.99. I love gaming. I just remember when buying the console and the game felt like most of the bill. Now buying the system almost feels like the admission price.
