The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is two years old. Nintendo released the Switch adventure on September 26, 2024, a date resurfaced by a second-anniversary post on Saturday.

Its significance is the game itself: Echoes of Wisdom moved Princess Zelda into the playable lead role for a kingdom-wide rescue after Link and other residents of Hyrule vanished into mysterious rifts.

Nintendo’s official game page centers the adventure on Zelda’s Tri Rod. With help from the ethereal creature Tri, she can create “echoes” of objects and monsters encountered around Hyrule. A copied bed can become part of a makeshift path, water blocks can create vertical routes and monster echoes can join fights.

The game also gives Zelda a temporary swordfighter form, plus Bind and Reverse Bond abilities that connect her movement to objects or make objects follow her. Those tools feed into exploration of the Still World, the fractured space inside Hyrule’s rifts where missing people, broken terrain, dungeons and bosses await.

Echoes of Wisdom remains playable on Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo later released a free enhancement update that improves image quality for the newer console’s display and high-resolution televisions and adds HDR support. That update gives the two-year-old adventure a current-system upgrade, even though this anniversary arrives without a fresh content announcement.
