@mrcinemaaaMini Review - #ImGame Went into the film expecting a gambling/betting movie, but I was pleasantly surprised by the unique concept. Kudos to the makers and director for not revealing the core plot point in the trailer. It genuinely made the reveal more exciting and surprised me in the theatre. The first half is an absolute blast. From the opening betting sequence to the car chase, the bedroom slap scene, the pub fight, and especially the pre-interval sequence, the film keeps you hooked and entertained. The pacing and energy are excellent, making it one of the best first halves I’ve seen in recent times. Dulquer Salmaan is in full form here. The role demands a lot of physical acting, and he makes even the smallest moments entertaining. He looks super stylish, handles the action brilliantly, and brings his A-game throughout. The cinematography is top-notch, while Jakes Bejoy’s background score is kickass and one of the film’s biggest strengths. The second half is where the film loses steam. The flashback portions are unnecessarily stretched, and the climax fight also goes on for too long. Once the story becomes predictable, a lengthy flashback only takes away from the interest built in the first half. This dragged-out second half is easily the film’s biggest drawback. @GulteOfficial#ImGame - ‘Game’ Lost In Second Innings The fantasy thriller concept, the execution and the lead actor’s performance from the start until the post-interval sequence, worked out very well in the favour of the film. Unfortunately, the film lost track completely after the post-interval sequence and gets very predictable. The proceedings during the last hour test the patience with a very unexciting backstory and dragged-out action episodes. Malayalam filmmakers maybe are very good at coming up with out-of-the-box ideas but more often than not in the recent past, they failed to engage the audience when the film gets into the typical ‘commercial entertainer’ zone. It happened with Prithviraj Sukumaran’s ‘I, Nobody’, in July this year and now with ‘I'm Game’. The directors of both films are different both of them messed up the films big time in the second half after a promising first half. The biggest drawback of the film is the backstory and the way it is executed. The backstory, the conflict point, the cricket matches, the emotions, the action episodes and everything else during the last about an hour or so unfold on a very familiar note and at a very leisurely pace. Rating - 2.25/5

By the end, a novel idea is poorly executed and reduced to an utterly routine, outdated revenge drama. For a film titled I’M GAME, it simply has NO GAME! M9 Rating: 1.75/5
