TLDR

MADkurious posted that games cannot improve without players accepting a $10 increase. APUKAMI1 noted low-budget titles often surpass big releases in gameplay despite lower prices. MAWKVLT described personal commission inflation over five years. Rashitbu said games are unchanged after paying 10-20 more while losing physical discs and launch optimization. Sirnoobwulfgr stated the rise reached $20 with no visible difference. SilverCyanide2 listed extra payments for base game, cut content, and bug fixes that still leave titles inferior to older $50 releases.

@MADkuriousUnpopular opinion: We can’t expect games to get better if we’re not willing to pay $10 more for better games.
@SilverCyanide2>pay 30$ more for the base game >Pay 20$ for the cut content. >Pay 10$ for a fix to bugs called a content update. >Game is still worse than the games that were 50$. I wonder...
@MAWKVLTThinking about this lately. In just 5 years I had to raise certain commission prices from 50 to 90 euros due to inflation. So I can't imagine 60 euros in 2003 and now are the same fair weight. And in fact, it's worse than I imagined:
@SirnoobwulfgrIt's now $20 up and we are still basically getting the same games It's been $10 up since the beginning of this generation btw.
@rashitbuWe already pay 10-20 more and games are not better. Plus we lost physical discs and good founder packs and release optimization.
@APUKAMI110$ for ps4 games. 10$ for ps5 games. 10$ for Switch 2/PS5 games. And somehow you'll find a 30 to 40 dollar low budget game to be vastly superior cus it doesn't has characters showing every pore of their skin and instead have actual varied gameplay. Price doesn't equal quality.
