Fading Echo has launched on PlayStation 5, giving console players access to an action-adventure built around turning water into a tool for movement, combat and puzzle solving.

Players control One, a young Legend traveling across the floating islands of Corel. The official PlayStation listing says she can shift between human and liquid forms, slipping through cracks, traveling through pipes, crashing down as a water bomb or rising in a burst of vapor.

The game's central system is elemental interaction. Water, lava, toxic waste and a reality-warping corruption each behave differently, and combining them can drench, petrify or explode enemies and parts of the environment. Combat mixes those reactions with close-range attacks and unlockable Æther abilities, while exploration asks players to use the same systems to reach new areas.

Fading Echo also moves between Corel and distorted versions of the world called Shadows, where familiar spaces operate under different rules. The story follows One as she searches for her past and tries to stop the Paradox Corruption from consuming her home.

The game was already available on PC before the September 22 PS5 release. The PlayStation version includes adjustable difficulty, game-speed assists, pausing and manual saves among its accessibility options.
