TLDR

Tweets show users questioning complaints about physical discs being stopped for modern games. One asks when people last used a disc for a recent title. A reply displays a large collection of cases and states the owner plays games by disc or cartridge every day. Other posts criticize plans to sell PlayStation consoles and switch to PC in protest, noting many PCs already lack disc drives. Participants argue the logic of such a move and highlight flexibility options available on PC.

@HeroicBlaze_people still crying about physical discs being stopped? genuinely tell me, when was the last time you have used a disc for a MODERN game and not a old game.
@EightBitWarriorSelling your PlayStation because they are no longer releasing discs and going to PC that already does not have discs is about the most moronic thing I've seen people do.
@Gingervitus126@HeroicBlaze_ I play games by disc/cart basically every day Old new doesn’t matter
@ALegendaryDropsGOG has an offline installer allowing permanent access. There is emulation, other stores, sailing the seven seas, upgradable hardware... Switching to PC you at least have options which is a better alternative to getting piped by PlayStation. But I guess some people like that.
@OmegaProYTIf you're going to be forced into a digital only library, why would you choose Playstation over PC? PC has flexibility, choice, limitless software and forever backwards compatibility. If you're going to put the future of your games in the hands of one particular platform, why in god's name would you choose the one that charges for online, and has only ONE storefront from which you can purchase games from? I can buy Steam keys from any site with variable pricing, I can use GOG to actually OWN my digital games, and if a game ever gets revoked/shut down there are numerous ways to continue to play games long after support for them has shut down. The convenience factor of a console just simply isnt worth all the the tradeoffs anymore, and when I look at my PC library of games that released from like 1998-present, it makes it incredibly hard to justify using Playstation where there is currently no infrastructure in place to support a digital only future like there is on PC
