Kirby Air Riders’ “Trick or Treat!” event reportedly canceled over screen freezes

Nintendo canceled Kirby Air Riders’ “Trick or Treat!” Halloween event after a screen-freeze issue, Nintendo Life reports. The outlet quotes a machine-translated message from Japanese Nintendo Support: “We have confirmed an issue in the currently ongoing event 'Trick or Treat!' where the screen temporarily freezes during gameplay.” The message, as quoted by Nintendo Life, continues: “For this reason, we will be cancelling this event.”

The event was originally scheduled to run from Oct. 28 through Nov. 4, with Ghost headwear available for participants to pick up. Nintendo Life says many players reported freezes during early matches.

Nintendo Life reports that Nintendo plans to hold the event again, but gives no date for its return.
