TLDR

Producer Kazuhisa Wada stated the team updated certain script lines in the Persona 4 Revival demo after finding they had confused players. He said the goal was clearer information while leaving characters unchanged. Posts from @Pirat_Nation and others quoted this explanation and noted the updates aimed at a more modern feel. Several replies expressed worry that dialogue, including lines from Yosuke and story elements involving Naoto, would be toned down. Separate posts shared English 4K demo footage and commentary from players who tried the build.

@Pirat_NationPersona 4 Revival is updating some of the original dialogue to make it feel more “modern,” but Atlus says the characters themselves aren’t being changed. Producer Kazuhisa Wada explained that the team found parts of the original script that weren’t as clear as they wanted. “There’s information that we assumed people would be able to pick up on, but they didn’t.” Some lines have been rewritten to make the conversations clearer and easier “But the conversation itself is all the same. The characters are all the same people. We haven't changed any parts of their personalities. We've adjusted dialogue to make it more modern and to be more effective telling the story."
@MisterOptical@Pirat_Nation “Let’s sanitize our own content before anyone notices..”
@GyaruGlowIf a remake starts adjusting dialogue for a “modern” audience, that’s never a good sign.
@ponzispcs@Pirat_Nation If you people change Naoto's storyline to be "modern" consider me non-buy-nary.
@ObamaNewJordan5you're not fooling us fatlus, we know you're going to tone down the dialogue (specially yosuke's) to not offend the newer fanbase of retarded teenage fandomites also, "modernizing" dialogue from a game that takes place in 2011? you can stick your demake up your asses.
@DestinLegariePersona 4 Revival Just Won Me Over I haven’t spent much time with the Persona series, but after finally getting a chance to sit down with Persona 4 Revival, I think I understand why this game is so beloved. Here are some of my thoughts after playing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EicbHlEHqU
