Xbox's October 2026 update brings Mythic Achievements and nine other features

Pure Xbox reports that the October 28 Xbox console update began rolling out with 10 new features. Mythic Achievements are earned by completing a game's original achievements; later DLC or update achievements aren't required. The update also adds selectable startup animations, controls for unused local saves and up to 1440p Remote Play streaming on supported devices. Bug fixes address black-screen boots and downloads that appeared to pause or stop unexpectedly.
