According to GameRant's account, the events are called “Minior Showers” and are timed to real-world meteor showers. The outlet says the first edition is scheduled for Oct. 19 to 24, 2026, during the Orionids, with later editions listed for the Leonids in November, the Geminids in December, the Eta Aquariids in May 2027, the Southern Delta Aquariids in July 2027, and the Perseids in August 2027.
GameRant describes Minior as a fan-favorite Alolan Pokémon and says players will have specific windows to catch it during those events. Citing the reported announcement details, the outlet says Minior will spawn in the wild during the showers, catching it will grant extra Stardust, and Pokémon GO’s in-game sky will feature shooting stars.
What GameRant says about Minior's forms
GameRant reports that Minior has seven different Core forms and that each Minior Shower will debut a different color. The outlet also says Pokémon GO has not specified which Core color is scheduled for each event. For the December Geminids edition, GameRant reports an exception: two Minior Cores will be added, with one restricted to the Northern Hemisphere and the other to the Southern Hemisphere.
GameRant also reports that Minior can switch from Meteor Form to Core Form in battle once its health drops below 50%. According to the outlet, that form change is limited to battles in GO Battle League or fights against Team Rocket and team leaders.
GameRant places the Minior rollout in the context of other Pokémon GO additions and planned arrivals. The outlet says spacesuit Pikachu will appear from Oct. 4 to 10 and Bramblin is coming Oct. 13, while Mega Chandelure and Dynamax Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf are expected to debut in the coming months.
