Onimusha: Way of the Sword's player reception and early Japan sales

Onimusha: Way of the Sword earned third place on one player's top-20 list for 2026 so far, alongside another player's enthusiastic account of finishing the game: a “brutal” final boss and closing scenes that gave them goosebumps. A chart post covering September 7–13, 2026, puts lifetime Japanese physical sales at about 122,750 across PS5 and Switch 2. That post says Switch 2's share of the game's weekly physical sales rose from 20% in week one to 26.5% in week two.
