Mario Kart Tour shuts down on mobile

Engadget also reported that the app still opens, but only to show player stats.

Estimated reach and revenue

VGC reported that, citing Mobilegamer.biz and AppMagic estimates, Mario Kart Tour was downloaded more than 276 million times and generated about $268.5 million for Nintendo over its lifespan. Those figures are outside estimates, not numbers published directly by Nintendo.

For players, the immediate change is that service has ended. VGC reported that players are no longer able to log into the game's servers, while Engadget reported that the app can still open to show player stats.
