Kojima Productions’ anniversary show is scheduled to run from Oct. 31 through Dec. 20 at Azabudai Hills Gallery in Tokyo. The official exhibition site says “BEYOND THE STRAND: The Odyssey of Creation and Endeavor” will trace the studio’s first decade through production materials, installations and video made for the event.
From early Death Stranding to its sequel
One centerpiece is footage from the earliest prototype of Death Stranding. The same section will include a book report Hideo Kojima wrote in high school, original artwork by Yoji Shinkawa and other previously unseen production materials.
The sequel gets a separate behind-the-scenes treatment. The venue will maintain a live connection to the Kojima Productions office through MADO, the telepresence system the studio used during the pandemic. Early ending concepts for Death Stranding 2 and location-scouting materials are also part of the announced display.
OD’s red door and larger installations
The exhibition will recreate the red door from the OD - KNOCK teaser at full scale and pair it with filming props and other material being shown publicly for the first time.
Elsewhere, three statues made for the exhibition will make their public debut. A 360-degree Death Stranding video will play on a screen measuring six meters across, while a life-size 10th Anniversary Ludens figure will greet visitors at the entrance.
The program also includes venue-only merchandise and collaborations with businesses at Azabudai Hills. Ticket types, access details and the latest schedule are listed on the official exhibition site.
