TLDR

A streamer posted about generating 50 soccer-themed emotes with ChatGPT in three minutes. Emote artists replied that the images look homogenized and urged viewers to commission human artists instead, citing prices from ten to seventy dollars per emote. Other users defended the choice as a way to avoid high costs or noted that big creators already use AI on thumbnails without similar backlash. One artist said the results resemble third-grade drawings despite the price some charge.

@NovaNekuraSee? This is what I mean when I say they charge you 100$ for something that looks like a 3rd grader drew it.
@videogameshayYour AI emotes look like shit ☺️
@happyharblNo one will pay for an artist for things they can now do themselves. Why would I waste $20 for FIVE EMOTES when I could get FIFTY EMOTES for free while also making them myself? Learn some damned economics you absolutely retarded troglodyte!
@GrahamothGamesI'm not giving this dude the money by sharing this. 2 things about this: A. Save the money and seek someone out on your own and get something done by a human instead of stealing B. Emote artists need to up their game because if he hadn't said these were AI, no one would know.
@BluebriarArtsIt’s always hilarious how oblivious AI bros to how samey their stuff always looks. Like yes dude we can tell it’s AI, it looks just like every other homogenized and manufactured thing AI makes
@AllCoaster68138its not that hard to pay for a commission
@TheMG3DTy for all the follow everyone! Fk ai support real artists!
@dippedinpoisonI downloaded Procreate and watched YouTube videos on how to use the program- in a day I made my own little guy emotes and my community LOVED them. Ai really is there to make people feel competent for the first time in their sad lives, embarrassing. Will never be me.
@byViruxIt’s crazy af to me how some of the BIGGEST YouTubers are using AI on their thumbnails and nobody cares… yet, some streamer trying to save money shares his sauce and they get shit on. 😭
