Embark has filled in the outline of Arc Raiders’ Frozen Trail update, which arrives October 8. In a detailed first-look post, the studio says the update will take Raiders beyond the Rust Belt to Pendola Pass, a frozen former village and Exodus transport hub where one of the colossal Emperor machines has fallen.
That setting is more than a new backdrop. Embark says the map will include a supermarket, town square, observatory and buried train depot, while flash freezes and a scrambled ARC response add danger around the valley. The stated objective is to reach the fallen Emperor and get inside it, though the studio has not explained exactly what players will find there.
A high-risk destination and new enemies
Frozen Trail also introduces the Frigate, a large ARC vessel that patrols Pendola Pass. Embark describes it as a challenge for experienced players: getting aboard means navigating its interior, opening paths and facing ARC and other Raiders who are after the same prize. The studio frames the encounter around the usual tension between cooperation and competition rather than promising a fixed co-op outcome.
Three new ARC enemies are part of the reveal. The Bully is an aggressive, mobile enemy; the Skulker waits at the edge of a player’s vision before attacking; and the Hydra is a three-part turret found on the Frigate. Those descriptions establish the intended roles, not final combat numbers or difficulty tuning.
A home base and more ways to change gear
The update’s personal-space addition is an Outpost, which Embark calls a Raider Den extension. Players will be able to add modules and furniture, while the Outpost’s Research Workstation will open higher levels of weapon customization and modding. The studio says it intends to develop the space further over time.
That workstation is also tied to amplified weapons. Embark says fully upgrading it can unlock a fifth quality level for selected guns and branching abilities that change their behavior. The feature is planned for 15 weapons at launch, with additional weapons intended later. Frozen Trail also includes the Stiletto battle rifle, Bantam revolver, Grappling Hook, tether gadgets, camera, instruments, weapon stencils, a Reward Pass, new questlines, Skill Tree changes and a new Map Condition.
Embark’s preview makes this a broad systems update, but it leaves some practical details for later: it does not give a complete quest list, final balance values, or the exact contents of every progression path.
