Independent developer Julian Zamora, who posts as chicanogoth, has shared an early look at a fan-made survival horror game inspired by Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil film. Zamora said the project had already progressed beyond the footage in the post and that more updates were on the way.
Dexerto reports that the game is being built in Godot and uses fixed camera angles associated with the original PlayStation-era Resident Evil games. The clip recreates an early scene from the movie in which Bryan, played by Austin Abrams, takes shelter in a barn during a snowstorm before an infected dog gives chase.
As Bryan moves through the scene, the viewpoint switches between fixed positions, framing the barn and the approaching dog in the style of the series’ earliest entries. That makes the project less a conventional movie tie-in than a fan-made reversal: a film based on a game series is being translated back into the visual language of those games.
The project remains at an early stage, and Dexerto says Zamora has not announced a release date.
