Switch 2 reaches 26.35 million sold-in units as first-half sales fall 37.4% year on year

Nintendo’s earnings results put Switch 2 at 26.35 million sold-in units through Sept. 30, 2026, according to Video Games Chronicle (VGC). VideoCardz also reports the 26.35 million-unit worldwide total from Nintendo’s figures.

The pace has slowed. VGC reports that Switch 2 sales fell 37.4% year on year to 6.49 million units in the first half of Nintendo’s fiscal year. That percentage describes sales during the period, not a drop in the console’s cumulative total.

VGC puts Switch 2 more than six million units ahead of both the original Switch and PlayStation 5 at the same point after launch. It notes that the earlier consoles faced supply constraints, a caveat to the comparison. Nintendo Life reports that Nintendo kept its forecast of 16.5 million Switch 2 units for the fiscal year ending March 2027 unchanged.
