Switch 2 jailbreak reportedly yields Mario Kart World assets and a YouTube demonstration

Nintendo Switch 2 jailbreak users have begun extracting game files, including a Princess Peach model from Mario Kart World, VideoCardz reports. The outlet includes a post attributed to RLG that reads, “Some models ripped from Mario Kart World!” VideoCardz says a complete playable Mario Kart World ROM dump has not been independently verified. It also says screenshots of Deltarune files show differential patches, not independent confirmation of a complete game dump.

Kotaku reports that newer exploits give hackers access to the Switch 2 filesystem and let them back up the console's firmware to a PC. Citing an explanation from hexkyz shared by x65943 on GBAtemp, Kotaku says games and apps can be dumped. That broader account does not establish that the extracted assets described by VideoCardz amount to a complete playable game image.
