Naughty Dog is working on an all-new Uncharted game, according to a report from MP1st. The outlet says the project is not a remake and is being directed by Shaun Escayg, the director of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

MP1st also reports that Nathan Drake will appear in some capacity. It could not confirm whether he will return as the protagonist, take a supporting role or make a cameo, so the familiar treasure hunter’s place in the story remains unclear.

Where it may fit in Naughty Dog’s lineup

The report describes the Uncharted project as Naughty Dog’s planned next release after Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. It places The Last of Us Part III after the new Uncharted game in the studio’s expected sequence.

None of that is an official release schedule. MP1st cautions that the project is unlikely to be announced soon while Naughty Dog remains focused on Intergalactic, and that development priorities can change.

The studio has not publicly announced a new Uncharted game. Until it does, the project’s premise, platforms, release window and Nathan Drake’s exact role remain unconfirmed.
