Stellar Blade director Kim Hyung Tae says the original game may not be finished evolving by the time its sequel arrives. In a 4Gamer interview, Kim said the team wants to do “whatever we can” for people playing the game and that Stellar Blade itself “might undergo some changes” before Stellar Blade BLOOD RAIN is released.
The remark came after an interviewer suggested that the upcoming Switch 2 Complete Edition could represent the game’s final form. Kim disagreed. The edition is scheduled for November 6 and packages the base game with previously released content; 4Gamer also reports that a free Bayonetta collaboration is planned for launch. Those are concrete parts of the release, while the possible changes Kim mentioned remain undefined.
The sequel is part of the context, not a timetable
Kim described BLOOD RAIN as a follow-up intended to make the original story more detailed. He said it is being designed so newcomers can enjoy it, while players familiar with the first game will notice more. That positions the two releases as connected without making the sequel a prerequisite.
His comment about the first game should be read with the same caution. It signals continued interest in supporting Stellar Blade, not a published roadmap. The interview names no feature, patch, date, or platform for any additional change, and it does not give a release date for BLOOD RAIN.
For the nearer-term Switch 2 release, Kim did offer one specific performance claim: he said handheld play should be stable at 50 to 60 frames per second. That is a developer statement rather than an independent test, but it is more concrete than the open-ended promise that Stellar Blade could still change later.
