In a new GQ interview, as reported by GameSpot, Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone described Haunted Chocolatier as a “town game” that leans further into action-RPG systems than Stardew Valley.
Barone said the main focus is adventuring, finding equipment and becoming more powerful. “There are monsters, there are boss fights,” he said, framing the game as a fit for Stardew Valley players who spend their time in the mines.
Haunted Chocolatier was announced in October 2021. Barone has not announced an official release date.
