TLDR

At Capcom’s October 2, 2026 tech conference, programmer Satoshi Ishida described REX as a series of upgrades to RE Engine rather than a replacement, gamebiz reports. The plans cover data handling, development tools, logging and performance. Ishida said the longer-term goal is for AI to understand the engine’s code, create programs and run test plays to check for bugs.
