Rock Paper Shotgun reports VP Roger Collum said the release was not subject to Creative Assembly’s usual quality checks.
TLDR
Rock Paper Shotgun reports that Sega and Creative Assembly pulled Total War: Shogun 2 Complete Edition from Steam after complaints about technical problems and AI-generated art. Collum apologized, said an external team developed the game and acknowledged that Creative Assembly had taken its eyes off the work. He said the studio does not use generative AI to create game art and is investigating what happened.
