NHL Prime Video Streaming Adds Monthly Fees for Local Fans

Some teams require extra monthly or yearly fees even for Prime members.

TLDR

Amazon Prime Video is the exclusive local streaming home for six NHL teams starting this season. Carolina Hurricanes fans must subscribe to the Hurricanes Hockey Network for $19.99 a month or $99.99 a year, and an Amazon account is enough without Prime. Minnesota Wild and Columbus Blue Jackets carry the same add-on cost. Anaheim Ducks and Dallas Stars allow in-market streaming with a Prime membership and no further fee. Some markets retain limited over-the-air broadcasts.

@CanesIntroducing the Hurricanes Hockey Network 📺 The new broadcast home for #Canes hockey will feature Mike Maniscalco, Tripp Tracy, Hanna Yates, and Shane Willis for the 2026-27 season. Details » https://n.carhur.com/4dcvmic
@DallasStarsA new way to watch Texas Hockey ⭐️ Beginning this season, Prime Video will stream all regional Stars games for in-market fans, with no additional subscription required.
@RussoHockeyFor local Wild fans, you don't need to be a Prime member to subscribe to non-nationally televised Wild games. You just need an Amazon account. However, if you're a Prime member, you still need to subscribe. Subscription is $19.99 per month or $99.99 per year If you instead want to watch on cable/satellite, channel locations will be announced prior to regular season after NHL completes cable/satellite agreements. There will also be some Wild games that will be televised over the air.
@AportzlineIf you have Amazon Prime, this "Blue Jackets Hockey Network" is an add-on, an additional $19.99 / month or $99.99 / year. But you don't need an Amazon Prime membership to get the "the Blue Jackets Hockey Network." This could only make sense in the modern world of TV viewing.
@AnaheimDucksDucks hockey is going to @PrimeVideo! All local games will be available to stream for in-market fans with an Amazon Prime membership, with no additional subscription required. Details ⬇️ https://www.nhl.com/ducks/news/ducks-games-available-to-stream-on-prime-video
@SporticoAmazon Prime Video announced Wednesday it will be the exclusive local streaming home for six NHL teams beginning this season as sports media titans engage in a new round of rights competition.
@VikeologistSo the Minnesota Wild are going to be on Amazon Prime but you still have to pay $100 a year to watch them? This is getting ridiculous.
@yyzsportsmediaTeams not helping fans out with the Amazon NHL deal: Regardless of Prime status have to pay either 20/month or 100/season Prime not needed to pay to watch Some teams may have OTA for free (kraken) Prime doesn't add anything for watching purposes Hat tip @Aportzline for clarity
