TLDR
Rock Paper Shotgun reports Jagex announced a fourth RuneScape MMO at RuneFest. Provisionally called RuneScape 4, the Unreal Engine game is early in development and is planned to begin in Ashenfall, a setting introduced in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. Citing a prebrief attended by MMORPG.com, the outlet reports that the project grew out of a planned 2027 Dragonwilds expansion. Jagex says the new MMO will sit alongside, not replace, its existing RuneScape games.
