Six Resident Evil games sold at least 3 million copies each in one year

Six Resident Evil releases sold at least 3 million copies each between July 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026, according to a Game File comparison of Capcom's cumulative sales disclosures. The group spans three remakes, two older mainline games and 2026's Resident Evil Requiem.

The Resident Evil 4 remake posted the biggest gain among the previously released games. Its cumulative total rose from 10.6 million to 16 million, a 5.4 million increase. The Resident Evil 3 remake climbed from 10.2 million to 14.5 million, while the Resident Evil 2 remake went from 15.8 million to 19.7 million.

Older entries kept moving

Resident Evil Village added 3.6 million copies, rising from 12.2 million to 15.8 million. Resident Evil 7 increased from 15.4 million to 18.4 million, a gain of 3 million at the chart's one-decimal precision. Requiem, released in February 2026, reached 8 million by June 30.

The chart also shows meaningful sales below that six-game threshold. Resident Evil 6 advanced from 9.7 million to 11.1 million, and Resident Evil 5 moved from 9.7 million to 10.9 million. Those gains put games released in 2009 and 2012 above 10 million cumulative copies.
