Xbox’s PHYSINT deal reportedly came in far below $400 million

Windows Central reports that Chris Dring walked back his claim of a $400 million Xbox budget for PHYSINT after Jason Schreier challenged the figure. The outlet cites sources with direct knowledge of the contracts who put the amount far lower. In comments shared by a user, Schreier said an Xbox source with firsthand knowledge told him the signed deal was for “significantly less.” He remained hesitant to give exact figures without documentation or multiple firsthand sources, and distinguished the signed amount from the game’s eventual cost. Windows Central also says Xbox’s deal includes movie and TV licenses for PHYSINT and enhanced terms for Kojima Productions’ horror game OD.
