Xbox is reportedly adding new ‘Game Tile Tags’

Pure Xbox reports that placement changes with tile size. When a game is highlighted and enlarged, the tag can sit inside the tile. On smaller tiles, the extra information can float above the artwork. That makes the feature more visible at a glance, but it also introduces another layer of information to an already dense Home layout.

The screenshots also show related profile and dashboard additions, including an Xbox Rewards streak indicator. Those elements appeared in the same source post, but they are separate from the game-tile examples and do not establish that every Insider receives the same collection of changes.

The available evidence does not show whether players can disable individual tags, choose which information appears, or turn the feature off entirely. It also does not establish whether the test will move beyond Insiders in its current form.

For now, the practical change is modest: achievement progress and friend activity can surface one step earlier, directly on Home. Whether that is useful context or unwanted dashboard clutter will depend on how many tags Xbox shows at once and what controls accompany a broader release. Microsoft has not answered those questions publicly in the material inspected for this story.
